CFO Conferences 2027: 16 Events Worth a your Budget

You have budget for two trips next year, maybe three. The list of CFO conferences 2027 has to produce a short answer, not a calendar of everything that exists. This list covers 16 recurring events and tells you who each one suits, so you can match the event to the job you need it to do.
One caution before the list. Organizers announce dates, venues and prices for each edition on their own schedule, and several have not published 2027 details yet. This post names the recurring events and what they offer. Check each organizer's site for the confirmed 2027 dates before you book.
How to choose among CFO conferences in 2027
Pick the job first. Finance leaders attend conferences for four different reasons, and each reason points to a different event:
- Peer benchmarking. You want to hear how other CFOs handle headcount, board pressure and AI budgets, in small rooms.
- Technical accounting. You or your controller need current guidance on reporting standards, audit and controls.
- Treasury and cash. You run cash forecasting, banking relationships or payments.
- Platform fluency. Your team runs one ERP or planning tool, and the vendor's own conference shows what ships next.
A CFO who needs board-level peers and a controller who needs close and reporting detail should not default to the same event. Send each person where their questions get answered.
Peer forums for CFOs
1. Gartner CFO & Finance Executive Conference. A research-driven event for CFOs and senior finance leaders, with sessions built on Gartner's finance practice benchmarks. It suits a CFO who wants a defensible view on where finance technology spend is heading.
2. WSJ CFO Network Annual Meeting. A senior gathering for CFOs, with an audience weighted toward larger companies. Go for the peer conversation, not the technical detail.
3. Fortune CFO Collaborative. An invitation-oriented forum for CFOs with a conversation format over a presentation format. It suits a CFO who wants candid exchange with a small group.
4. FEI Current Financial Reporting Issues Conference. Financial Executives International runs this event for reporting and controllership leaders. Standard-setter and regulator updates sit alongside practitioner sessions, which makes it a strong pick for a controller or chief accounting officer.
5. SaaStr Annual. A software-industry event with finance sessions on SaaS metrics, pricing and fundraising. A CFO at a software company gets more from it than a CFO in manufacturing.
Accounting, controllership and treasury
6. ENGAGE. The annual accounting-profession conference from the American and UK institutes that run the CIMA designation, with management accounting sessions alongside public accounting. A controller can fill a week of learning hours here.
7. IMA Annual Conference & Expo. The Institute of Management Accountants focuses on management accounting, FP&A and corporate finance practice. It suits FP&A leads and controllers who run internal reporting.
8. AFP Annual Conference. The Association for Financial Professionals event covers treasury, cash forecasting, payments and risk. A treasurer or a CFO who owns the cash forecast gets the most from it.
9. Money20/20 USA. A payments and fintech event with a finance operations audience in the mix. Pick it if your close depends on payment flows, bank connectivity or embedded finance.
Platform conferences for the system you already run
Vendor conferences teach you the roadmap of the tool your team uses every day. They also show how peers configure it. Choose the one that matches your stack.
10. Oracle AI World. For teams on Oracle Fusion or NetSuite ERP, with finance-specific tracks.
11. SuiteWorld. The NetSuite user conference, useful for controllers who own the NetSuite close and reporting configuration.
12. Workday Rising. For finance teams on Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning.
13. SAP Sapphire. For finance teams on SAP S/4HANA or planning on an SAP stack, including teams still on ECC who are weighing a move.
14. Sage Future. For Sage Intacct customers, with sessions on multi-entity consolidation and reporting.
15. BlackLine Momentum. For teams that run reconciliation and close management on BlackLine, with a close-focused agenda.
16. QuickBooks Connect. For smaller finance teams on QuickBooks, with product updates and bookkeeping workflow sessions.
What to do before you register
A conference ticket costs far less than the time it takes. These steps protect that time.
Set a question for each person. A controller who attends with a specific question, such as how peers tie out intercompany balances in a multi-entity close, returns with an answer. A controller who attends without one returns with a tote bag.
Read the agenda for named practitioners. Sessions led by finance leaders from operating companies teach more than sessions led by vendors. Count the ratio before you commit.
Plan the follow-up now. Block a meeting two weeks after the event where the attendees present three changes they will make. Events that produce no changes were entertainment.
Where AI belongs on your 2027 conference agenda
Every event on this list will carry AI sessions. Most will show demos. Fewer will show a team's close running on agents with a person approving each step. When you sit in those sessions, ask three questions: who approves what posts, where the numbers trace back to source, and what happens when the agent is unsure. Presenters who answer these directly have built something you can test.
